The dairy cattle breeding industry has been significantly impacted by technologies like genomics, IVF and Sexed Semen, as well as the ownership of genetic rights and females by AI companies. While it was initially believed that AI units would cash in on the exclusive use of genomic information, this was short-lived as they had to control their costs of sire acquisition and started buying their own females.
