Building on the experience of the previous Expo Internationale Holstein Québec (EIHQ) show a new dairy cattle show will be taking place in Quebec this fall. Called the Supreme Dairy Show or “Le Suprême laitier”, the show will take place from November 3-8, 2014 at the fairgrounds in St-Hyacinthe, Que.
The new show will offer dairy cattle shows for Holstein, Ayrshire, Jersey and other dairy cattle breeds. Organizers are also planning to host a sale of dairy cattle and embryos. The event will include commercial exhibits from manufacturers and dairy equipment dealers. Participants will also be able to attend lectures and take part in discussion forums on a variety of topics. In preparation for the show, a new 27,000 square foot building costing $4.5 million is currently being constructed on the St-Hyacinthe Fairgrounds. It is slated for completion in April.
The Supreme Dairy Show’s Red & White Holstein Show will take place on Friday, November 7th with Joël Lepage of Amqui, Que., doing the judging. The Holstein Show will be held on Saturday, November 8th with Réjean Petitclerc of St-Basile, Que., handling the judging assignment.
