St. Pierre’s Elle Purrier Sets a New American Record

Elle Purrier St. Pierre, a world-class runner, Olympian, and dairy farmer from Berkshire, Vermont, has beaten her own record in the indoor women’s mile.

St. Pierre established the American Record for the Women’s Indoor Mile in New York City on Sunday, Feb. 11, running the famous Wannamaker Mile at the Millrose Games in 4:16.41, beating her previous American Record of 4:16.85.

St. Pierre surpassed Jessica Hull, an Australian runner who passed her in the 3K in the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix last weekend in Boston. St. Pierre raced a calm 1200m before bursting out with a scorching kick in the race’s closing stretch to win the prize and the record.

On her Instagram account, St. Pierre, who gave birth to her son Ivan 11 months ago, dedicated the race to mothers, stating, “This one’s for the moms!” Throughout her illustrious running career, she has been a supporter for the dairy sector and its products.
