Registration now open for Dairy Calf and Heifer Association conference

Set for March 31-April 1, 2015, the annual conference will feature a dairy’s experience on Undercover Boss.

Registration is now open for the Dairy Calf and Heifer Association annual conference, to be held March 31-April 1, 2015 at the Madison Marriott West in Madison, Wis. This year’s conference lineup features some exciting new changes, including the change to a new two-day format, a pre-conference event and tour, and sessions focused on the dairy beef sector.

“This year’s conference has been condensed into a great two-day event focused on the latest in calf and heifer raising,” says Vickie Franken, owner of City View Farms, near Sioux Center, Iowa and 2015 conference committee co-chair. “The new two-day format has allowed us to introduce a very unique experience to producer and veterinarians through the pre-conference event, an addition that the conference planning committee is very excited about.”

The 2015 DCHA Conference will showcase:

  • Industry experts sharing research, expertise and advice on calf and heifer management.
  • New dairy beef sessions focused on nutritional and economic considerations.
  • An exciting pre-conference event hosted by the University of Wisconsin-School of Veterinary Medicine and the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Lab.
  • A tradeshow reception featuring a silent auction to raise funds for the DCHA scholarship, live entertainment and more.

This year’s keynote, Brad Scott of Scott Brothers Dairy Farms in San Jacinto, Calif., will share his operation’s experience with the popular CBS show, Undercover Boss. Brad will share why he and his family took the risk of allowing a reality show to have an inside look at their farm and how it resulted in a lifelong relationship with a national brand. Brad will share clips from the show and discuss ways that you can positively impact consumer confidence, both locally and nationally.

“DCHA members understand that consumer relationships are critical to the future of our industry,” explains Franken. “We are excited to showcase the experience that Brad Scott and Scott Brothers Dairy went through with Undercover Boss and think that it will be a learning experience for all in attendance.”

Custom heifer raisers, dairy producers, veterinarians, nutritionists and anyone with a vested interest in raising calves and heifers is invited to attend the conference.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for this can’t miss event.

The Dairy Calf and Heifer Association (www.calfandheifer.org) was founded in 1996 based on the mission to help dairy producers, calf managers and those professionally focused on the growth and management of dairy calves and heifers. With a national membership of producers, allied industries and research leaders, DCHA seeks to provide the industry’s standards for profitability, performance and leadership, serving as a catalyst to help members improve the vitality and viability of their individual efforts and that of their business.
