Massive Blaze Engulfs London Dairy Farms: Over 450,000 Litres of Water and Excavators Deployed to Battle Fire

Massive fire at London Dairy Farms: Crews battle stubborn blaze with 450,000 litres of water and excavators. How will this impact Ontario’s dairy industry?

Dairy barn fire at London Dairy Farms. Responding departments: London, Central Elgin, and Thames Centre, Ontario. July 11, 2024. Crews continue to tackle blaze at ‘stubborn’ hay barn. London fire crews remain on scene of a large barn fire at 3700 Old Victoria Rd. 

At around 1:45 a.m., London fire shared on social media, “Crews continue to work overnight on this stubborn hay barn fire with over 450,000 liters of water used and two excavators to move hay to get to the seat of the fire.” 

Fire crews responded to the scene just after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mutual aid from Central Elgin and Thames Centre is also on scene. 

This marks the second fire at London Dairy Farms in the past 10 years. For more details, you can read here.
