We’ve received news of a legendary cow’s passing. This message was sent to us this morning:
It is with a heavy heart we announce, that just ten days after her 18th birthday, Idee Lustre has passed away on January 10, 2015. Lustre carries such a legacy that is unmatched by any other cow a admiration of her beauty and strength. Such an amazing cow to have offspring all over the world, she is a household name who surpassed many others of her time, living as long as she did is an accomplishment in it’s own right.
We cherish the memories that have been created with such a majestic cow. For 14 years the queen of our farm Lustre commanded the attention of all who came to visit. Whenever we had a calf in the box stall barn it never failed that Lustre would end up with it in her pen, loving the calf as if it were her own. The friendships and business partnerings that have been carved from this great cow are ones we hope to keep for many years. Our family would like to those of you who have purchased calves, or embryos from the Lustre family to help her to live on forever.
