Italian Holstein Evaluations: April 2025 Update Reveals Significant Changes in Bull Rankings

The April 2025 Italian Holstein evaluations have been released. They showcase notable shifts in proven and genomic bull rankings since the December 2024 evaluation. Several new entrants have made impressive debuts, while established bulls have seen significant movements in their PFT (Italian Total Merit Index) values.

Proven Bull Highlights

ZFZ CRISALIS RF has strengthened its position at the top of the proven bull list with a remarkable PFT of 5140, showing a substantial increase of 378 points from its December 2024 value of 4762. His profile features excellent milk production (+1295 kg), positive component percentages (+0.17% fat, +0.18% protein), and outstanding longevity.

IDEVRA ROYAL INSEME CARLOMAGNO has made an impressive leap to second place with a PFT of 5065, up 445 points from December. His balanced profile shows strong milk production (+1493 kg) with good protein yield (+84 kg).

ISOLABELLA DISTEFANO ET rounds out the top three with a PFT of 4905, improving 275 points since December. While offering more moderate milk production (+678 kg), he excels in conformation traits and fertility.

Genomic Bull Rankings

The foreign genomic rankings show even more dramatic changes, with PEAK VINDICATE-ET leading at an impressive 5465 gPFT. His profile combines exceptional milk yield (+1664 kg) with outstanding component yields (+145 kg fat, +97 kg protein).

COOKIECUTTER HADLEY-ET maintains his strong position with 5434 gPFT, improving from his December value of 5404. His fat yield remains exceptional at +156 kg.

DELTA MORGAN has significantly jumped to third place with 5390 gPFT, up from 19th place in December. His profile features remarkable milk production (+1837 kg) with solid component yields.
