Great weather, Great Cattle, Great People results in a Great Sale hosted by the team at ferme Blondin. Opening the sale with an extremely emotional introduction from one of the most passionate breeders in the world today, Simon Lalonde, ferme Blondin. While the sale did not have any did not have any lots sell for more than $200,000, it did average an outstanding $15,844 on 167 lots. Five lots brought over $100,000.
Top seller at $145,000 was Welcome Jerod Gola (lot 162), the April 2013 “Jerod” heifer calf who is the number 33 GTPI female in the breed at +2569. Selling in absentia and consigned by Welcome Stock Farm, LLC, Schuylerville, N.Y., she is from Welcome Russell Gotcha (VG-85-USA), a “Russell” with 26,374 lbs. milk, 4.4% fat, 3.3% protein as a yearling who completes nine generations of Very Good. The #3 GTPI female on the 6/13 run; the #33 GTPI female in the breed with contract interest from Semex.
Oconnors Super Great Looks (lot 163) sold for $120,000. A June 2013 “Supersire” heifer calf from the Lylehaven Lila Z (Ex-94-16*) family who also sold in absentia. Consigned by Mapel Wood Farms, Jerseyville, Ont., O’Connor Land & Cattle Co., Ajax, Ont., Don Rowntree, Georgetown, Ont., and GenerVations Inc., Campbellville, Ont., this calf has a +3481 GPA LPI and +2543 GTPI and is from the highest “Snowman” daughter of Oconnors Planet Lucia (VG-86), the number one GLPI cow in Canada at +3421. Contract interest from Semex.
Bringing $100,000 was View-Home Daddy Jersey-ET (lot 3), an April 2013 calf who is the number one “O Daddy” calf in the world at +2585 GTPI and number 23 GTPI in the world. She is the #23 gTPI female in the world and the #1 O-Daddy in the world. From the Rudy Missy family, her dam is springing and looks very promising with tremendous size, strength and frame. She was consigned by Country Dairy Inc., New Era, Mich., and sold in absentia.
Also selling for $100,000 to a syndicate was the first choice of a “Chevrolet” male from Bryhill One Sassy P (lot 29), a December 2012, polled “Numero Uno” with a +3142 GPA LPI and +2313 GTPI. This consignment came from Bryhill Farm Inc. and Riverbye Holsteins, Ormstown, Que the buyer is guaranteed at least 1 male to be polled and above PA for gTPI. The flush will take place in early August on this exciting polled Numero Uno.
Ms Rollen-Ns Cam Lexie P-ET (lot 35), an April 2013 polled and red carrier “Cameron” calf with a +2276 GTPI and +2790 GPA LPI, sold with several pregnancies for $100,000. Believed to be the #1 flush aged polled female in the world. From the same family as Ladd P, Lexie comes from a family with an extremely impressive flush history. Consigned by Maverick, Pristine Genetics & Todd Widholm, Chebanse, Ill., she is from a Very Good-86-USA “Destry” dam who completes six generations of Very Good or Excellent.
Highest selling milking female at $92,000 to Alain Choiniere of Alna Holsteins, Notre-Dame-de-Stanbridge, Que., was 3-year-old Ms C-Haven Oman Kool-ET (VG-87), the former number one GTPI “Man-O-Man” daughter in the U.S. and second highest protein cow at +80. A ninth generation Very Good or Excellent and milking over 110 lbs. a day, she was consigned by Jeff Butler & TJR Genetics, Chebanse, Ill. Her son, AltaKado, is Alta’s #1 GTPI (+2475), #3 GLPI and #1 Protein (+85P) bull on both sides of the border for bulls who are a year old on proof day. Kool has proven to be an extremely good flush heifer and has paid significant returns for all who have worked with her.
Selling for $62,000 was the 1st Jr. Calf & Res. Jr. Champ at Trois-Rivieres 2013, Godin Bless Windbrook (lot 24). Consigned by Jeff Butler and Ferme Blondin this tremendous Windbrook spring calf is backed by eight VG & EX dams.
Also selling for $62,000 was the knock out Atwood Spring Yearling, Cameron-Ridge Atwood Beauty (lot 19) from the Tony Beauty’s. Already a Junior Champion at the Mideast Spring National Show, it won’t be the last JC title she grabs in 2013.
Attracting a lot of attention was the extremely correct and stylish Jacobs Sid Bamba (lot 20) the outstanding daughter of the great Jacobs Goldwyn Britany EX-96, reserve All-Canadian 4yr old from 2011. Britany is looking great for the shows in the fall and so is her Pine-Tree Sid daughter. Expect to hear more about her.
