Construction of the two New Holland Pavilion Buildings on the Alliant Energy Center grounds, where World Dairy Expo is held, continues to move toward finality. After groundbreaking on April 11, crews came in to demolish barns. It took two weeks, but 140 tons of steel and 12,000 tons of asphalt and cement were sent to recycling as all the barns were removed.

By May 7, pieces of the New Holland Pavilions began arriving. It took 64 semi loads of steel to take the project to its current point. New Holland Pavilions 1 and 2 will replace the 11 barns that hold 2,600 head of cattle during the fall event. The project is expected to cost $24 million and span 290,000 square feet. World Dairy Expo committed $3 million towards the project.
Structure for both buildings is beginning to come together, with the above picture looking north from the Exhibit Hall, toward downtown Madison and the state capitol building.
