There was no denying that cattle with high genomics values and high earning power were the in demand sellers at the Sale of Stars managed and auctioned by Crasdale Auctions and Blondin International. 106 lots grossed over $3,000,000 with the cattle lot bringing an average of $29,300.

Four animals sold for $200,000 or more.  The synopsis of those high sellers is as follows:

  • Starting and topping the sale at $250,000 was Sully Numero Uno Maribel born in May 2012 and was purchased by Morsan Farms and Butz-Hill. She has the amazing DGV LPI of +4002 and is a Numero Uno from the very popular dam Sully Planet Manitoba. Maribel sold in absentee to Morsan Farms Ltd., Ponoka, Alta., and Butz-Hill Holsteins, Waukon, Iowa and was consigned by David Dyment, Dundas, Ont., and Sebastien Dion, Pintendre, Que
  • Following immediately in the sales ring and selling for $240,000 as Jolicap Mogul Carmey. Carmey was the #1 Mogul in the world at GTPI 2626 and is from the well respected Ralma Christmas Cookie family. Carmey was consigned by Jolicap Holsteins of Quebec.
  • The third high seller at $210,000 was a first choice daughter from Oconnors Last Hope, the sale topper at the November 6th Genetics by Design Sale. Last Hope is the Numero Uno from the #1 GLPI Cow, Oconnors Planet Lucia. Stanton Farms continue their retooling in purchasing the choice (Read – Genetics by Design – Crosses the $4,000,000 Mark)
  • Founding out the top four sellers at $200,000 was Cookiecutter MOM Hue a high genomically evaluated first lactation Man-O-Man from a Shottle from a Goldwyn from the Dellia Family. Buyer: Diamond Genetics, GenerVations, O’Connor and Mapel Wood.

Cattle sold well throughout the sale with eleven animals selling for $50,000 or more and the very last lot bringing $43,500 for a Senior Yearling that would enter the show ring in less than twelve hours.
