On the road to recovery there are certainly good days and then there are tougher days. Yesterday was a good day for our hero Reese Burdette. Her favourite cow, Windy-Knoll-View Pantene was named Reserve Champion at the Pennsylvania’s State Holstein Show and she was able to see it all. Through the advances mobile internet, Reese was able to watch the whole show through FaceTime.
We where all touched when earlier this year, the family brought Pantene on a surprise visit to see Reese at the hospital, as “Team Reese” continues to keep her as involved in the farm as possible. Through FaceTime Reese Burdette, along with her nurses, therapist, and surgeon, watched her own Windy-Knoll-View Pantene take home both Intermediate Champion and Reserve Grand Champion from her hospital room. Burdette is recovering from burns suffered in a May 2014 house fire.
Laura Dufford Jackson, Reese’s aunt, says the family still appreciates monetary donations and especially cards for Reese. While she is at the hospital, Laura reports that the mail is delivered much faster if it is sent to her home, addressed to Justin and Claire Burdette, 8656 Corner Road, Mercersburg PA 17236.
While the family has health insurance, costs are very high. A bank account is set up for Patricia Stiles and Reese Burdette. Mail checks to Capital One Bank 12806 Shank Farm Way Hagerstown , Maryland 21742, putting the names Patricia Stiles and Reese Burdette in the memo.
