Top seller of the evening at $22,500 was Lot 104, Trinal Barbwire Kelly VG85, the winning junior 3-year-old from Ontario Summer Show who was claimed by Kevin Doeberiener, West Salem, Ohio. Consigned by Century Star Holsteins, Elmvale, Ont., this Hylite Barbwire daughter completes seven generations of Very Good or Excellent and has been fresh since June. She is from a Very Good-88 “Joyboy” dam, followed by a Excellent- 93-4E, 2-Star “Redman” grandam with over 90,000 kg milk lifetime.
Second higher seller at $11,200 to Westcoast Holsteins, Chilliwack, B.C., was Legend-Maker Lotus Giggles, a September 2015 Red & White “Lotus” daughter from the famed Stelbro Renita Ranger-Red (Ex-94-3E-USA-8*) family. Consigned by Jeff Stephens, Troy, Ont., and Mt. Elgin Dairy Farms, London, Ont., she is from an Excellent-91-4E, 4-Star “Glacier” dam with 11,626 kg milk, 4.1% fat, 3.3% protein (222-241-228).
Third high price was paid for Lot 1. A first choice Mutally Agreeable Sire out of Ms Duckett Dyment Coral-ET VG87 2x Reserve All-Canadian as a heifer brought the price of $10,200.
