As an artist Emma Caldwell has a talent for connecting with the essence of the cows she paints. Telling her story in The Bullvine was a pleasure for the entire team and we were inspired by both Emma’s work and her commitment to the dairy industry. It was a great day when she graciously agreed to auction off her latest painting of “Hailey” with a portion of the proceeds to go to her selected charity the Farm and Food Care Foundation. For two weeks the Bullvine received many glowing comments from old and new fans of Emma’s exceptional artwork. The final bid came in on April 30th. Mario Comtois will hang the painting with pride at Gen-Com.
Emma too was delighted with the results. In glowing terms, she thanked everyone “who bid on Hailey or shared a photo or “liked” something related to this auction”. However, as those who have followed her story are learning, this isn’t the first time that Emma’s heartfelt artistry has benefited others while creating a gallery of famous cows in the dairy industry. Emma fans on Facebook said it best, “Congratulations to Mario Comtois and family on being the successful bidder for this amazing painting by Emma Caldwell. Could not imagine a better home” and another appreciated the bigger picture or pictures, if you will. “Smurf goes to Gillette, Francesca to Deer Hill, and Hailey to Gen-Com. Emma you are doing a great job putting all your cows in their proper “stables.”
Emma Caldwell puts her heart into her work and never loses the goal of being an advocate for agricultural. Both in the charities she supports and the role model she provides for others, she is making a positive difference every time she paints her passion. She recognizes the ripple effect that is possible when the agricultural community shares what is closest to their hearts, “that’s really what agricultural advocacy is about: Spreading the word about agriculture, becoming aware!” Well said Emma and to you we offer our heartfelt congratulations and encouragement as you continue developing your amazing talent!
