At the renowned Hessens Zukunft show in Alsfeld, a remarkable event transpired. Brühlhof Joelbelle, the protagonist of our story, surpassed all other competing breeds and was recognized as the Supreme Champion. Care to know more about her? Well, this winning heifer is a daughter of Joel and was recently classified EX-93. Her lineage is equally impressive; her dam is a VG-89 Eclipse, and her granddam is a VG-86 Guapo, who originally hailed from Great Britain.
There’s more to her lineage. Tracing back her roots, we find the family of the famous Duncan Belle, who was proclaimed Grand Champion multiple times at the illustrious Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. Just like all the Jerseys at the Uhrig farm, Joelbelle’s roots can be traced back to North America. And, in keeping with tradition, the Uhrig farm uses only sexed semen from North American type sires.
“The demand for show heifers has developed very positively in recent years to the point that we are able to sell four to six animals from our farm every year at a good price,” explains the proud breeder Uhrig.
Recently, two daughters from Joelbelle were sold; one named Victorious and the other, Lolalala. Additionally, daughters sired by Chocochip and Maverick are still present on the farm. And if the going gets as the Uhrigs want, there will soon be more daughters – Joelbelle is set to be flushed soon, possibly with Victorious. This bull has brought immense satisfaction to the farm through his prodigious progeny of milking two-year-olds. Stay tuned for more updates on this promising future.
