According to USDA’s June Milk Production report, among the top 10 milk-producing states, Michigan surpassed Pennsylvania to rank fifth, while all other states maintained their rankings. California and New Mexico experienced year-over-year declines in milk production. Wisconsin, New York and Michigan continued to see growth in June, offsetting the losses in California and New Mexico, producing an additional 189 million pounds of milk compared with the prior year.
